Today is Access Sunday, a day in Victoria when we reflect and celebrate those who are involved in CRE (Christian Religous Education) and Chaplaincy. These wonderful people are involved in the states largest mission field. Around 3,500 CRE volunteer teachers provide this ministry in 900 Victorian State Schools but to reach all children Access needs 7,000 volunteers.
Over 150,000 primary and secondary students also have access to a Chaplain’s ministry which brings support and pastoral care in many areas, some being bullying, anxiety, lonliness and hopelessness.
This is a ministry whrere you can get involved, whether it be through financial assistance, getting involved as a teacher or through prayer. Each of these three aspects are vital to this ministry for its ongoing success. Please prayerfully consider your involvement in some way.
